Character Notes:
History: Ayumi comes from the series Pretty Cure, but is a movie-exclusive character designed for the recently released Pretty Cure All Stars New Stage movie. She is a transfer student who has just recently arrived in the city of Minato Mirai in the Yokohama area of Tokyo and has trouble making friends due to terminal shyness. Throughout the course of the movie, she meets up with a small golden blob she calls Fu-chan, which is a piece of Fusion, a enemy that had returned recently to fight the Precure in the current district.

Unable to make friends, she makes friends with Fu and together the pair become good friends. However, during the course of the movie, Ayumi discovers that Fu is actually Fusion's main part, and he attacks the Smile Precure when he is discovered. Ayumi blames herself for Fu's actions, and she apologizes for his actions before getting away with him. It's revealed that Fu has decided to reset everything for Ayumi, and starts absorbing things, places and people, including Ayumi's mother.

Ayumi chases after Fu, intent on stopping him and taking responsibility. Along the way, she meets up with the Smile Precure and the Suite Precure, as well as the Heartcatch and Fresh teams. They make their way to the center of Minato Mirai where a portion of Fusion tries to consume Cure Happy, but Ayumi pushes her out of the way, and getting consumed in the process.

Ayumi resolves at that moment that she will take responsibility and will become friends with both the Precure and Fu, and her resolve awakens the right to become a Precure. She is transformed into Cure Echo, and together they push on towards the scene. The mascots use Miracle Lights to clear the way and Cure Echo manages to get Fu to stop. However, the majority of Fusion is still intent on erasing and resetting everything, and it strikes out at them, only to have the Smile team stop him with the sacrifice of Fu's power, leaving behind words that he will always be Ayumi's friend.

After the movie, Ayumi returns to her life, able to function by resolving her issues with her mother, as well as making friends with the people in her school. She also has a white Cure Decor as a reminder that she is a Precure.

Personality: Ayumi has trouble making friends and relating to others early on in her story, being unable to voice them directly. She has trouble adjusting to sudden things such as moving to Minato Mirai with her parents, and has trouble relating to her mother as well. Throughout the storyline we see her grow into a confident young woman, who needs to relate to others by expressing her feelings to them, which is a central part of her story altogether.

Ayumi is shy but she likes various things such as antiques, ice cream and video games. Her only friend throughout the movie is Fu-chan, who is the main part of Fusion. And while she as trouble voicing her feelings, she also bottles them up and expresses them when push comes to shove. She asks the Precure to help her, but it turns out that she is strong enough to push forward.

Afraid of confrontation, Ayumi soon learns that it is better to talk through her feelings instead of yelling angrily at people. She once believed she hated everything about the city, and Fusion decided to grant her wish by resetting the world, and destroy it all for Ayumi. But she learns that everyone was looking out for her, and she decides that it is time for her to take charge of her own life, and own destiny by communicating her wishes.

As a Precure, she is but in training and has no Smile Pact of her own (not yet), but she has her own transformative Cure Decor. She became a Precure because she wanted her feelings to be heard, and according to the mascots, if a girl has a compassionate heart and a strong will which Ayumi demonstrates, any girl can become a Precure. It takes courage too which is what she faced, watching the others fight their way through Fusion and even though she had a bittersweet happy end, it was a happy end.

At the end of the storyline, she has little trouble relating to the people who she once shunned, and she has made friends with several of the girls in her class as well as making up with her mother. She demonstrates strong courage and a need for friendship and companionship instead of loneliness, and wishes to be a strong and lively girl while keeping in mind that her lost friend will always be in the city, protecting her.


Other: As a Precure, Ayumi possesses the power of Cure Echo. Her Cure form allows her advanced speed, strength, stamina and she also has a special attack called Echo Shoot which has not debuted in the story itself, but is presumed to be some kind of throwing or kicking attack with a white energy sphere. She hasn't demonstrated the use of a Smile Pact, but also cannot be considered the sixth Smile Precure as of this time due to her movie-exclusiveness.

She is technically the 29th Precure in the lineup as well, and is well in continuity with the Precure All Stars DX movies as well. As for the regular PC timeline, well, the DDD Precure timeline is a absolute mess and we'll work it in somehow.

Dear Online Journal:

Today was such a mess! I couldn't make any friends at the school and all of them seemed to ignore me, even though I was the new girl! But... it wasn't like I could gather the courage to do this...

I mean... I just want to make friends, but it's so hard! This is a new city, and we only moved here because Mama took a new position on her work. I hate it here. I just wish I was back at my old home. At least then I could probably talk to the people I know in the community. Instead there's a new school, new people, and that dog across the street really scares me.

I just want to go back home. Why did Mama want to bring me with her? Couldn't I have lived with grandma and grandpa? I was happy there...

It isn't fair. And this town can be scary too. Just this week there was an attack on the town itself by a giant monster. Why would I want to live here knowing that things like that happen? Everyone's so enamoured by these Pretty Cure people, and yet... part of me wishes I was that strong. I'm scared, and its' not even a giant monster that I'm looking at fighting but my own insecurities.

I want to go home...

Third Person:
Ayumi trudged through the halls. Second day of school, and it was boring as hell. It wasn't that there was anything that she wanted to do, but she couldn't get the words out considering everyone was so lively and outgoing in her school. She tried to speak to people but everyone was so intimidating...

'If only I had courage...' thought Ayumi to herself as she wandered around the halls, trying to find her next classroom. This was such a weird school too, since it was in a Western Style where they changed classrooms all the time instead of having the teacher come in to teach them. Why couldn't they just let them get used to the same people over and over?

Sitting down as the bell rang, she opened her bookbag and bit her lip. There was that article she saved on the Precure. Why would she do that? Oh right, she wanted to talk to the girls who were all energetically talking about the Precure. But when she tried to, her throat locked up and she couldn't speak, and embarrassed, she ran for it.

Laying her head down onto the desk, she groaned and sighed a little. What to do, what to do? This wasn't the way she wanted to live. And yet everything was weighing down on her.

'I wish I had a friend...' thought Ayumi to herself, as she looked at the birds soaring outside the window. 'A real friend, one I could talk to.'

Little did she know, that there was a soon to be dear friend trapped under a leaf on her way home...
